Diabetes Action Network (Ottawa) |
Diabetic Action Network (DAN) was formed in 2003 to provide a forum in the Ottawa area for people with insulin dependant diabetes, people that are interested in insulin pump therapy and people that are already pumpers. It is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. There is no affiliation with any pump manufacturer.
The primary focus of the group is the exchange of information and real life experiences. There is usually a guest speaker at meetings to provide up-to-date information on directly related subjects. Every effort is made to link potential and interested users with current pump users. Lively discussion generally takes place over refreshments. Presentations are also made by manufacturers in order that members can be aware of the latest in research and technology for the treatment of diabetes.
DAN meets every second month at the Heron Road Community Centre, 1480 Heron Rd., Ottawa. Meetings are currently scheduled to begin at 6:45PM. For further information contact: DAN9@rogers.com.
