About Us!
We are a drop in group of people who have insulin pumps or people who are thinking of getting them. We meet once a month to exchange experiences, problems, solutions and emotional support. We investigate cost saving options and invite speakers to come to speak on diabetic issues, especially those related to pumping.
The Calgary Insulin Pump group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month (No meetings i July or August) on the 4th floor of the Diabetes Centre in the Old Colonel Belcher Building at 1213 4th St., S.W. Calgary. We meet from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The usual format of our meetings consists of 1 hour discussing the concerns/experiences of members and the 2nd hour is usually devoted to a speaker on diabetic or insulin pump issues. Anyone with an interest in insulin pumps is welcome to attend. There are no fees.
NOTICE (September 2006)
The Calgary Insulin Pump Support Group has been asked to help find diabetics who would be interested in participating in a pilot project for patient entry of data into a secure medical database developed by the Calgary Health Region. We are seeking both Type I and Type II diabetics. It is not necessary for participants to be on an insulin pump. If you are interested please contact Isabelle Emery at emeryi@telus.net
